What is a glow? A flash, an intense light that illuminates, even for a moment, lives, people, emotions, feelings, sensations, thoughts, whispers of plants, animals, winds, rains, waves, snowflakes. Signals and caresses of earth and sky, fragments of divine revealed in a moment, a mystery revealed by a breath of wind, which tears the blindfold that obscures the heart.
"Bagliori" the last book of poems by Luciana Navone Nosari, is exactly this: a cathedral that has its foundations on earth
and its spiers in the sky. Verses shining, shining, profound in their apparent simplicity, written by dipping the pen in the blue ink of love and in the dark and dark one of pain, making life, nature, the divine, good, evil shine in a phantasmagoria of images, visions, sounds, scents, colors that captivate and seduce the reader, in a catharsis of joy and tears that does not give neighborhood, but purifies the heart and soul. The author has divided the book by themes (wind, childhood, love, life, emotions to name a few) but, in reality, they are deeply intertwined, in a game of musical and harmonious references, devoid of stretch marks or stylistic artifices, literally pleasant but sterile and empty like the "heart of tin" protagonist of "Sparks" on which emotions and feelings flow indifferently and unnoticed like rain on the glass.
The circle of life is illuminated in all its facets; like the ecstatic and primeval gaze of the child that appears in "Games in the fire", or the generosity full of life and hope given to others, despite the relentlessly fast approaching of the end, admirably portrayed in "To a boy of wind ", The life of a man read on the wrinkles of his face, hieroglyphics dripping with feelings, passions, emotions in" Wrinkles ". The courage to live riding a steed of wind, overcoming obstacles, falling, getting up again, but always living and struggling, finally arriving at a haven of peace, together with the reader, who rides the lines with his eyes and his heart, in an ecstasy of life that conquers and resuscitates it, in "The road of man" and in "The river of life". The author, however, also illuminates the dark side of life, the burden of finite loves, the tears that stagnate in the swamp of regret, the shattering
of the soul under the merciless and unpredictable blows of bad luck, without taking the gaze of the judge, but of a compassionate angel who teaches how the most terrible evil can be defeated by the flower of life and that a meeting can be a new beginning, that redeems the mistakes of the past, with sweet and strong words, the breath of a mother on the wounded heart of a child. "Francis" and "Prayer" are a hymn to authentic, pure, unconditional faith, which flows from the heart like a stream in spring and embraces earth and sky on a mountain-cathedral, where Croce's smile meets God's infinite love . The nature and the elements, moreover, are not pure frames that embellish the verses; instead, they are authentic protagonists who awaken in human beings the ability to capture fragments of the divine as it emerges in "Wind of stars" or the very essence of life, in its alternation of joys and sorrows, perfectly described in "Wind of life ". Childhood itself is tackled without rhetoric and cloying overtones, but caught in its unfolding of energy, light-heartedness, desire to live, harmony with nature, where the puppies of men and animals meet, united in the same Eden of joy and of innocence, effectively described in "Cinguettii (there are no differences)". Luciana Navone Nosari has succeeded in reworking themes, forms and instruments of romantic poetry according to an original and personal style, updating its contents, without indulging in stereotypes, but with a deep and at times searching, one perceives, even very painful.
In particular, the author does not place herself on the pedestal of the vate above life and humanity, looking at them with haughty detachment. She, on the other hand, is a Franciscan poet with Leopardian nuances. In common with Leopardi it is undoubtedly the participation in the destiny of humanity, the idea of active human solidarity that faces the difficulties of life, starting from the self to reach us, in a union that is an authentic and non-rhetorical acceptance of other than itself, like "The Union" and "The Meeting" effectively underscore.
The Franciscan element, which pervades the whole book, unites heaven and earth, in a fraternal and not mortal embrace.
Luciana Navone Nosari has succeeded both in terms of style and in terms of content, to synthesize in her verses tradition and modernity, in a book that is a passionate look at the world, and not an escape from the world.
